Use of Photopatch Testing for Diagnosis of Photosensitive Cutaneous Adverse Drug Reactions
Lee Ai-Young

Abstract
Photosensitive cutaneous adverse drug reaction (CADR) is a rather common type of CADR. It shows a characteristic clinical manifestation concerning the location of lesions, which are mainly distributed on sun-exposed areas. The reaction could be subdivided into phototoxic and photoallergic. Based on the different pathogenesis of phototoxic and photoallergic, phototesting and photopatch testing could be the essential test to make the diagnosis and identify the causative drugs. In fact, photopatch testing has shown to be reliable for identification of causes of photosensitive drug eruptions, although further studies about the appropriate concentrations or vehicles for suspected drugs remain to be clarified.
